One of York's largest theatre-style auditoriums, available for hire all year round

The Tempest Anderson Hall

The Tempest Anderson Hall is a 300-seat theatre-style auditorium within the Yorkshire Museum, perfect for holding conferences, lectures and seminars.

It is named after Dr Tempest Anderson (1846 – 1913), a great supporter of the Museum who paid for the lecture theatre to be built in 1912 in memory of his sister. His portrait still hangs at the back of the Hall.

The Hall has a 3.5 x 7 metre projection screen and AV equipment and has a break-out room next door, which is ideal for pre-conference registration or refreshments.

Many conference clients also choose to hire The Hospitium, in the Museum Gardens, which offers a complementary space for workshops and/or lunch.

We offer a variety of delegate packages and are happy to discuss your requirements and to arrange a site visit.
